Poem By Sugira Urbain Gilles

Dear You,
I hope this finds You smiling down on me.

I went to Your grave last year, I swear I heard you talking to me.
Between then and now, a lot has happened and much was good.
I am pretty sure the last letter I wrote to You is hanging on some
parts of the wall up there. So here is what’s new.

Your descendant, I, has had a rough year, but assured,
I’ve known how to jump past my challenges. There are moments I think of,
when comes this month, that had You seen the Sun to this very day,
those bad times wouldn’t have happened.
For that I miss You more without ever seeing You!

I am into poetry now, and here is what I have for you.

Had I known Your stories, I’d have written about them,
Had I heard of Your jokes, I’d have laughed with You,
Had I shared rooms with You, I’d have worn Your clothes,
Had I stared at the stars with You,
I’d have told You about dreams,
But now, now You are a memory I have never seen,
A soul I miss I’ve never met. But bet on me!
I will live for you and in me Your light shines for good.

Here is candle I light for You. 🕯️

Your Loving Descendant.
